RNC Protests

Yesterday, in a mass sweep Jonathan Williams SPAN Coordinator was arrested by police. He was part of a peaceful protest with other Peace Action affiliates.

Other raids were conducted in private homes of “suspected protestors”; and, at a critical mass bikers were arrested in their peaceful ride.   Our friend was swept up during a unpermited protest. Police were in roit gear – they used rubber bullets and tear gas. They arrested hundreds and many have not been charged with anything – they are being held for 3 days.

We stand in solidarity with all those arrested and all those who stand for peace and justice in our democracy. We believe in the power and RIGHT of the American people to speak out against their government. We believe protestors were targeted based on their appearence and age.
