Not enough votes in House to pass war funding

In Congress, Iraq, Middle East, military, Peace, troops, War

House Democratic leadership definitely does not have the votes yet.  It sounds like the leadership is going to use floor time tonight on various votes to do face-to-face whipping.  If they have the votes, the house will bring the supplemental up as early as tomorrow.  When the House passes the supplemental the Senate will try to follow as early as mid to late this week.  I’m also hearing the President Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel is trying to whip Republican’s, but failing.  We need to continue to pressure our allies for “no” votes on war funding.

I still think that the bill will pass at some point.  They all have since we invaded Afghanistan, but perhaps leadership will have to put more diamonds in the big pile of poop of a bill to get it pass.
